As the President of Chatham Economic Development Corporation, Kyle leads operations of the organization and the implementation of a comprehensive strategic economic development plan for Chatham County. Kyle works to ensure the EDC is connected and engaged with local, regional and state economic development partners, including private investors of the organization.
Before joining the EDC in 2016, Kyle led a chamber of commerce in Mississippi and held economic development positions of increasing responsibility in Knoxville, Tennessee and Tallahassee/Leon County, Florida.
Kyle is a native of Mississippi and studied political science and communication at Mississippi State University. He completed the Oklahoma University Economic Development Institute certificate program in 2011.
He is active in several business and civic organizations, including the Siler City Rotary Club, Siler City Development Organization, Chatham Chamber of Commerce, Research Triangle Regional Partnership, North Carolina Economic Development Association, Southern Economic Development Council and the International Economic Development Council. In 2017, the Triangle Business Journal named Kyle a 40 Under 40 Award winner.
Jamie serves as Chatham Economic Development Corporation's Vice President. He focuses on serving existing Chatham County industries in business retention and expansion. He works closely with Central Carolina Community College's Economic & Community Development Division.
Jamie brings experience in both economic development and non-profit management, previously working with the North Carolina Department of Commerce, Jacksonville-Onslow Sports Commission and Special Olympics North Carolina.
A Chapel Hill native, Jamie studied economics at the University of North Carolina at Asheville and earned his MBA at Florida State University. In 2017, he completed the Oklahoma University Economic Development Institute certificate program.
Jamie lives in Chapel Hill with his wife and two sons. A former collegiate track an field athlete and coach, he volunteers coaching youth basketball and track and field and is a USA Track and Field Certified Official. Jamie serves on the board of directors for Chatham YMCA.
Director of Communication and Strategic Projects
Alyssa is the Director of Communication and Strategic Projects for Chatham Economic Development Corporation. In this role, she oversees all marketing and media relations with the goal of better communicating the EDC's impact and value in the community. She is responsible for implementing communication strategies in line with the EDC's strategic economic development plan.
Alyssa joined the EDC as a communication specialist in 2011 after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Mass Communication and Political Science. After briefly leaving to work at a commercial real estate firm, she rejoined the EDC in an expanded role in May 2017.
In 2016, she completed the Chatham County Leadership Academy. She has served on the Board of Directors of Pittsboro Business Association, the steering committee for the Pittsboro Main Street program, and worked with Siler City Development Organization. A North Carolina native, Alyssa lives in Apex with her husband and two children. They enjoy gardening, cooking and exploring North Carolina together.
