“The Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) has approved 22 grant requests to local governments totaling $8,401,717, Governor Roy Cooper announced today. The requests include commitments to create a total of 557 jobs, 413 of which were previously announced. The public investment in these projects will attract more than $83.7M in public and private investment.

‘Investing in our rural communities throughout the North Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority’s grants is not just about improving infrastructure; it’s about empowering our residents, creating jobs, and fostering sustainable economic growth,” Governor Cooper said. “Together, we can build a brighter future for all North Carolinians, including those recovering from the damage of Hurricane Helene.'”

• “Town of Pittsboro (Chatham County): An $850,000 grant will help the Pittsboro Downtown Streetscape Revitalization Project reconstruct brick sidewalks and make them ADA-compliant, while adding accessible ramps at all intersections. The project is expected to leverage an investment of $2,660,238.”
