Chatham County approved projects earlier this week that will pave the way for suppliers and retail to support VinFast and FedEx (NYSE: FDX) facilities coming to the southeast area of the county.

In recent months, multiple projects have sprouted up across Chatham County as developers look to capitalize on VinFast and its 7,500-person manufacturing facility coming to the Triangle Innovation Point megasite in Moncure. With thousands of people set to work in this area of the county, more land will have to be developed to support functions at the site.

The first project that the Chatham County Board of Commissioners approved was a rezoning for 243.5 acres for a project called Midpoint Logistics.
