A large housing development is coming to a part of Chatham County that hasn’t seen much residential investment lately.

During an April 17 meeting, the Siler City Board of Commissioners approved a rezoning request for 168.5 acres. The land for the housing community, called Fox Haven, sits just off West Third Street on the west side of town.

Preliminary plans for Fox Haven call for a total of 766 new homes – 296 single-family homes, 192 townhomes and 288 apartments.
